This website is under construction. For the first time I will try an English version. I'm no native speaker or English teacher and the work in the body is exhausting, it needs breaks for regeneration.
Give me some time and turn a blind eye if my translation isn't always correct. * I will do my best. *
Science agrees on Homo sapiens having emerged from other forms in billions of years. But there is disagreement whether he is the result of random chemical compounds and biological mutations or whether there is a higher intelligence behind the evolution.
Considering the adaptation of plants and animals to its habitats they exist in a perfect interplay. No one ever had to teach a plant to absorb air, sunlight and water, to grow cells, to blossom and to reproduce. In the jungle one can observe a real competition in order to gain the best sunny spots.
The same applies to the animal kingdom, especially in the wild. Animals know which food is digestible and how much of it they have to eat. They know what would harm them and what is good for them. Many of them protect their young with at least the same care as humans do.
About the human beings I am not quite sure about. There is no other species being as successful as ours in poisoning its habitat and killing each other under the influence of the lower nature. Do we fit carefully into the Whole, act in the sense of Divine guidance and use our given "high intelligence"? Wrong! Not even the last 2017 years have been enough to learn it.
Animals on the other hand only take part in "bad manners" of man when they live with us closely. Out of love for us, because we are a kind of super-animal for them ...
And we shall be the highlight of evolution? The most developed being ...?
A part of mankind is working to decimate the rest, possibly by means of an atomic war, in order to continue to exist happily with all its material wealth. If it were not so cynical we could laugh about this naivety.
We are increasingly transferring the power of our body and spirit to our technology instead of further developing it. To become a mind more intelligent and even more genius does not change anything at all.
If we were to use the overbearing intellect in the right way we would recognize that in today's human form we are not the wisdom of this creation. More and more people are doing so. If one accepts this spirit behind things, some call it God, other Brahman, etc., one can only call it arrogance no longer to trust Him. As if He had no ideas for creating something better that at least corresponds to the progress between animal and man.
Meteorite impacts, ice ages and other serious climate changes have accompanied the history of our planet since first life has tried to gain a foothold in this inhospitable environment. But do we know one hundred percent that it were accidents and crises? Couldn't it have been the struggle of the higher intelligence behind everything for the most successful embodiment? Just as an artist sometimes destroys his work and starts from new because he can no longer improve on the object?
What if our present body had more secrets for us than we could imagine in our wildest dreams?
Sri Aurobindo once told the story of a yogi who was bitten by a rabid dog. He showed all the symptoms of the erupting disease. Through his yogic concentration he managed to prevent the onset of the disease all his life. In a moment of carelessness the disease broke out and he died.
Sri Aurobindo added that the interesting question was not why he died, but why the yogi was bitten by the dog at all?
That is to say, a disease can be kept at bay by means of a controlled higher mind. If you really want to eliminate them, it takes a step further. One has to start where it is created: in the body. Our body cells have their own consciousness, as every pianist or skater will confirm.
How often do you find yourself digressing with the thoughts while playing a piano, while the hands play independently? So they have an awareness.
If one can rise above the ordinary mind into a higher consciousness, why shouldn't that succeed as well with the consciousness in the body cells?
And what is necessary, that fate does not come to be bitten by a rabid dog? How do we draw this into our lives?
"Our object is not to remove all ‘limitations’ on the expansion of the ego or to give a free field and make unlimited room for the fulfillment of the ideas of the human mind or the desires of the ego-centred life-force. None of us are here to ‘do as we like’, or to create a world in which we shall at last be able to do as we like; we are here to do what the Divine wills and to create a world in which the Divine Will can manifest its truth no longer deformed by human ignorance or perverted and mistranslated by vital desire." (Sri Aurobindo in a letter, Mother's Agenda, January 8, 1966)
The coming of a new earth was foretold by the mystics through all ages. How exactly that could happen we knew little up until fifty years ago. For many spiritual seekers the material world is something"unreal". But that is not true. The earth was created for good reason and will continue to exist as our home. To enter Nirvana will no longer be the highest spiritual realization.
Sri Aurobindo and the Mother have left us extensive writings. They incarnated endowed with the necessary divine power, sought the way and undertook the necessary steps and changes in our earthly milieu. For mankind, to move forward into the next stage of evolution. That is the way it always worked: There was not just one avatar that aroused a new level of consciousness on Earth. Who claims this? On what knowledge base and above all: for what reason ...?
Sri Aurobindo and the Mother regarded themselves as researchers and explorers. When they started with their examination of the cellular consciousness of matter they learned how to break and alter the informations contained, i.e. those informations which lead to a lasting damage of the body and always ended with death. For this purpose they had to accept a human body and to submit to nature's laws. They tested their findings with pain for decades on their own bodies. And they were successful.
Simply put, Sri Aurobindo succeeded in installing a consciousness in the earthly milieu that could awaken and activate the divine consciousness hidden in our body cells. He called it "supramental consciousness" (supra = lat. Prefix for "over, above"). Its effect is firmly anchored in the terrestrial realm and cannot be reversed. It now has a permanent influence on matter and our cell-consciousness.
The deification of matter is the last step that conquers the cycle of birth and death. The way is open. What we need is the courage to follow it. It is time to look ahead instead of constantly repeating the past. The adventure of our evolution has not yet come to an end, it goes on.
The descent of the supramental is an inevitable necessity in the logic of things and is therefore sure. It is because people do not understand what the supermind is or realise the significance of the emergence of consciousness in a world of inconscient Matter that they are unable to realise this inevitability. I suppose a matter-of-fact observer, if there had been one at the time of the unrelieved reign of inanimate Matter in the earth’s beginning, would have criticised any promise of the emergence of life in a world of dead earth and rock and mineral as an absurdity and a chimera; so too, afterwards he would have repeated this mistake and regarded the emergence of thought and reason in an animal world as an absurdity and a chimera. It is the same now with the appearance of supermind in the stumbling mentality of this world of human consciousness and its reasoning ignorance.
Sri Aurobindo, Letter on Yoga
We are at a moment of transition in the history of the earth. It is a moment only in terms of the eternity of time. But compared to human life this moment is long. Matter is in the process of changing to prepare for a new manifestation; but the human body is not sufficiently plastic and offers resistance. This is why the number of incomprehensible disorders and diseases is increasing and becoming a problem for medical science.
The remedy lies in union with the divine forces which are at work and in a confident and quiet receptivity that facilitates the process.
Those who want to progress have an exceptional chance; because the transformation begins by opening the consciousness to the working of the new forces; and thus individuals have a unique and marvelous opportunity to open to the divine influence.
